We are Alfred and Maribel Anareta, and we serve as pastors of Jesus Is Alive Community Waterloo Region. For the past nine years, it has been our privilege to walk alongside with our daughter, Kayla Anareta, and people who are searching for hope, healing, and a deeper relationship with God. We believe God’s love truly transforms lives, and that the local church is a place where people can feel welcomed, known, and guided toward His purpose.
Our heart is simple: to love God, love people, and teach God’s Word in a practical and life-giving way that helps individuals and families grow in faith and discover why God created them. Grounded in prayer and led by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to leading with humility, integrity, and compassion as we build a Christ-centered community where people can encounter Jesus, experience restoration, and live out their calling.

I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Pastor Samuel Cole Nicolas. I’m a husband and the proud father of two amazing kids, Elle and Boaz. Together with my wife, Jan, we serve and walk alongside this church family.
Our church is not perfect, it’s made up of real people with real stories, learning and helping each other grow more in Christ. Our heart is to know Jesus, experience Jesus, and become more like Jesus.
My prayer is that as you explore this site, you’ll sense God’s love and the heart of our community. We are ordinary people learning to follow Jesus and live out our faith in real, everyday ways.
