What a wonderful day of worship, fellowship, and celebration as Jesus Is Alive Community Waterloo Region marked its 9th Anniversary!

Nearly 300 people gathered to celebrate God's faithfulness, including church members, guests, visitors, and brothers and sisters from other JIA churches across Ontario. Together, we lifted our voices in praise and worship, and were encouraged by the powerful message from Pastor Edna Agustin, Head of JIA Canada, who reminded us to prepare our hearts for God's greater move.

The celebration was made even more special through presentations from our Youth and Kids Ministries, a fun and inspiring Youth Talk, and a heartwarming talk-show segment featuring the children of our church founders as they shared memories and reflections on God's faithfulness through the years.

After the service, everyone enjoyed food, fellowship, dance craze, and plenty of laughter. One of the highlights for many of our younger guests was the appearance of Lightning McQueen, who brought smiles and excitement to the celebration.

As we look back on nine years of God's goodness, we also look ahead with faith and expectation. We believe God is continuing to prepare the way for even greater things to come in our church, our families, and our community.

Our Volunteer Appreciation Night, “Fit Check: Ready to Serve!”, was a joyful and memorable celebration honouring the dedicated volunteers who faithfully serve in our church ministries.

With 60 volunteers in attendance, the evening was filled with energy, laughter, and appreciation. Everyone came dressed in creative sports, health, and fitness-inspired outfits, making the “Fit Check” theme both fun and exciting.

The program began with an energetic Zumba dance opening that brought everyone to their feet and set the tone for the night. Volunteers also enjoyed engaging games, delicious food, and meaningful fellowship throughout the event.

One of the most special moments of the evening was the giving of certificates, where we recognized the commitment, passion, and faithfulness of our volunteers in serving the Lord and His people.

It was truly a night of gratitude, encouragement, and celebration, reminding us that every act of service matters.

Twenty-eight participants successfully completed School of Workers 2 (SOW 2) on February 28, 2026. The one-day class equipped participants with practical teachings on spiritual growth, ministry skills, healing, and the work of the Holy Spirit. SOW 2 prepares participants for greater responsibility and active service in ministry.

On February 14, 2026, couples gathered for the “From I Do to I Still Do” Masquerade Gala, rejoicing in God’s gift of marriage through fellowship, music, and meaningful vow renewals. The night celebrated lasting love rooted in faith and the joy of walking together in God’s plan.

The SOW 1 sessions were held on January 31 and February 7 with 9 participants in the first batch and 19 in the second. Participants received foundational lessons in spiritual growth and discipleship, equipping them to grow in their faith and actively engage in the church community. We celebrate their dedication to taking this important step in the Discipleship Roadmap.
